Horror Segment - Whats Under The Bed

Horror 10 Question Interview with Parahistorian

1. What's your favorite cemetery you've visited?

By far it's Green Mount Cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland. (http://greenmountcemetery.com/) Absolutely beautiful, old cemetery with a lot of well known burials including John Wilkes Booth.

2. Your about to enter a haunted house. What 3 things do you take with you before entering?

Flashlight (duh!), voice recorder, and camera just for documentation. I'm a minimalist when it comes to paranormal investigation, most of the various gadgets are just that and really don't help with anything except wasting your money. :)

3. What's your favorite ghostly or horror film?

All time favorite is The Exorcist. I also really enjoyed The Conjuring.

4. Who's the bravest in your family when it comes to visiting a haunted location?

Hands down it would have to be me. I've been visiting haunted spots for years now. However, my kids are pretty fearless as well. They've been brought up visiting cemeteries and various haunted locations since they were fairly young.

5 What's your favorite haunted location?

My favorite has to be the Old Utah County Jail. We experienced some crazy things in that place (sound of slamming jail cells, shadow's captured on video, disembodied voices and footsteps) and it has a very unusual history. It was originally a nursing home / hospital and then it was turned into a prison (odd combination!). We found most of the active spots were in the older part of the building which was the original hospital.

6. Which did you like better: Classic Poltergeist or Woman in Black?

Poltergeist is definitely a favorite but I'd have to go with Woman in Black.

7. If you came back as a ghost, where would be your favorite haunt?

This is tough. I'd want it to be a public location so I could mess with people. Probably one of my other favorite haunted spots here in Utah. Ogden's Union Station. Great old train depot that has amazing history and is pretty haunted. I'd be one of many there!

8. Have you ever seen an apparition?

I have. It's actually what sparked my fascination with the paranormal. I was about 8-9 years old and I saw what I guess would be defined as a shadow person in our home. After telling my parents I overheard my mother having a conversation with her friend a few days later and she mentioned that the people who owned the house prior had a young child who died in the home. From that point on I was hooked! :)

9. What music, if any, puts you in the ghost hunting mood?

I don't know if I have a certain type that puts me in the mood for ghost hunting, but right now I really love Bad Suns and Walk the Moon.

10. What's the best way to communicate with the dead?

Keep it simple has always been my motto. A simple voice recorder is the best / easiest way to go. The friends that I usually investigate with like to know the history of a location before we go and then we'll usually just have a conversation with each other about the location, it's history, and the people who could possibly be haunting the location while recording. We've gotten better results with that than having the standard set of ghost hunting questions, do you know you're dead, how many are you, are you a man or a woman, etc. If a location is truly haunted by intelligent spirits it makes sense to us that they would be more inclined to join in on a conversation about them and the location than to answer silly questions.

Horror Segment - Whats Under The Bed

Horror 10 Question Interview with April Monique Burril aka Chainsaw Sally!

1. In a horror hostage scene, what's the best way to shut someone up?
I find threatening to rip out their tongue and feed it to the dog usually does the trick.

2. Why should everyone have a chainsaw?
Everyone should NOT have a chainsaw.  Or rather… some should wield it (those with some common sense and a desire to rid the world of irritating assholes) and some people (in this case the irritating assholes in question) should have a chainsaw in some less convenient place - like the stomach… or the face…. or wherever it seems funniest.

3. What's your favorite method of restraining your victims?
Their own intestines.  That’s just good old fashioned fun, right there!

4. How do you think Chainsaw Sally would match up against Michael Myers from Halloween?
Hard to say…. Sally certainly moves a lot faster.  But Michael has that kind of relentless slow energy that just keeps going and going and going.  Most likely, if they ended up in the same town on a killing spree, I don’t think they’d get in each other’s way very much.  Different goals, ya know?

5. If you could choose another weapon of torture, what would it be?
I have yet to use a woodchipper.  And I think that’s a darn shame.

6. Chainsaw Sally The Animated Series is under production. How does acting in the animated series compare to when you do the Chainsaw Sally Show?
We haven’t started voicing yet, BUT… judging by the scripts I’ve read it’s going to be pretty amazingly fun.  The focus of the series is really the comedic side of the Sally-verse.  Yes, there’s blood and gore and hack and slash…. but it’s all friggin’ hilarious.  Plus, we are no longer going to be a slave to physics - Sally with no gravity! Yay!!!

7. Who makes a better villian you or your husband JimmyO?
Hm…. I think if you finally pushed him over the edge, Jimmyo would be a pretty terrifying adversary.  All those biceps!  I, however, look fairly innocent most of the time.  So… they don’t see me comin’!  I’m SNEAKY.  And I’m constantly in some kind of physical training, so hopefully I kind of know what I’m doing.
Of course, if you mean who PLAYS a better villain… I’d say Jimmy.  I’ve always enjoyed his acting.  He has a distinct ability to command a scene - very intense guy.

8. What's your favorite horror movie?
I’ve been asked that a lot and my answer is always the same: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.  There are a ton of films that I truly love, but TCM - or rather the creation and success of it - have a big place in my heart.  Just a little indie film - a group of college students giving up their summer and many physical comforts in order to make art.  Gruesome art, sure, but art all the same.  The first time through on that movie, I liked it a lot but I wasn’t in love with it.  But after watching a few times through over the years I started to notice that it was giving me a recurring nightmare - no other film has done that.  Something about the bleak hopelessness of Sally Hardesty’s situation once she’s all alone with the Sawyer family.  I just find it to be a really successful film - not because of raking in a ton of cash, but because it has impact that stands the test of time.

9. Who's been your favorite co-star in any of the films you've acted in?
Though I’ve enjoyed everyone I’ve worked with,  Debbie Rochon is my top pick.  Working with her in any capacity, but especially in the film “Good Sisters”, was not only fun, but a tremendous learning experience.  She’s very good at sinking completely into a scene and charging it with energy and intensity.  Whenever I felt a scene drag, all I had to do was make eye contact with Debbie and pow!  Plus… we laugh together a LOT.

10. Have you any plans to bring back the Drive-In podcast or something similar?  As of now, there aren’t solid plans on another podcast.  We did the Drive-In one just because we thought it would be fun to include fans in some of the behind-the-scenes shenanigans that go on during the making of the Chainsaw Sally Show.  With the animated series coming up, I supposed a podcast is possible.  What I think is more fun is actual footage being shot while we make the weird stuff we make.  Nothing has been discussed at this point yet, though.  We’re pretty much just focused on getting the cartoon going.  It’s gonna be SO FUN!!!

What's Under The Bed - Horror Segment

Horror fan interview! Talia @taliamarie77 on twitter!

1. Your in your bedroom and the only means of escape is out your window as a zombie apolcolypse breaks out. What 5 things do you put in your rucksack before jumping out the window just as zombies start to break down your door?

These were hard to come up with, since I have to think of things that will FIT in the rucksack!! 1.Phone/charger, 2.Water bottle, 3.Rolled blanket, 4.Small photo album with family photos, 5.Extra pair of shoes.

2. What's your favorite part of Day of the Dead?

I know there was a remake of the 1985 movie in 2008 but I still prefer the "classic." My favorite part was towards the end when the soldiers were being chased by the zombies coming out of the huge elevator.

3. A blood colored marguarita or taquilla on the rocks with bone shaped ice cubes?

I'm a fruity-drink-type of girl so definitely blood colored margarita!

4. Who's your favorite character in the Walking Dead?

Daryl Dixon, of course! A sexy, buff, self-reliant, surly redneck that needs to get hosed down. Hell yessssssssss.

5. What's your weapon of choice against a hand full of zombies?

A chainsaw!

6. Who do you think makes a better zombie, Andrew Rothenberg as Jim or Aldis Hodge as Mike?

Definitely Andrew Rothenberg as Jim. Poor Mike had no jaw or arms! Not very threatening, in my opinion.

7. What's your favorite thing about Norman Reedus?

I have TWO favorite things! 1.The fact that in real life, he's way cooler than his characters.  2.He's so down to earth and is always willing to show his fans how much he appreciates them. That's a rare trait in actors, nowadays.

8. What's your favorite horror film?

The ONE film that I have NEVER been able to watch alone is The Exorcist; therefore, making it my favorite horror film. It takes a lot to scare me so kudos to The Exorcist.

9. Who's your favorite horror hero?

My favorite hero is Ash, from The Evil Dead. Because he's "groovy."

10. What's the best Zombie food - Green nachos or rancid salsa?

Ughhhh...I'm going with the green nachos. Less rotten liquid to digest.
